On Tuesday, 14th September, Mawarra played host to a zone final of the Campbelltown/Macathur Oracy Competition. There were a total of 34 speakers from 8 different schools. Mawarra was represented by Alex Medd and Meg Kay in the seniors and Marialee Truong and Thomas Wood in the juniors. The adjudicator Lyndell Walsh had a very difficult time to select the co-winners for the Area final. Thomas Wood was successful in representing Mawarra at the next level at the Camden Civic Centre in November.
